service delivery

Geographic isolation, limited infrastructure, and resource constraints make service delivery in remote Papua New Guinea complex and costly. Strong partnerships are essential to ensure programs are not only delivered, but delivered well, reaching the people who need them most and creating sustainable, community-led outcomes. Our work and approach align with GoPNG priorities, as well as those of other development partners, including UN agencies.

With deep local knowledge and trusted community relationships in East Sepik Province, Living Child has a proven track-record of providing effective, culturally appropriate service delivery across a variety of topics and audiences.

  • now we got this training it will help the mothers to understand to take care of their families. Feed them three times a day from the four food groups. Especially we got our protein from the sea and now we realised that fruits or protective food has its own benefits as well as others.

  • I am now practicing advanced management for 3rd stage [of labour]. I am no longer practicing control cord traction (pulling on cord, as I used to practice previously) but instead I only guide the cord and ask the woman to push when she has contractions. I assume from now on we will have less retained placenta.

  • I have learned so many new things. I am so happy about this training. I also teach other women in my village. I am very happy that I haven’t given up being a VBA, even when I am down, I have not given up. I am still working. Thank you.
