Many families living in the Greater Sepik region of Papua New Guinea have never had the opportunity to access basic health education, and frequently get seriously ill from preventable diseases. Our Care Groups program delivers basic health information to thousands of people through a peer-to-peer system, starting with our Care Group Team Leaders. For Care Groups to be successful in a village, there must be a strong, supportive and motivated couple at the helm, coordinating the activities. The Team Leaders liaise with our team in Perth, teach the basic health lessons that are shared with them by the LC team, and support a team of 10 to 15 Volunteers. Your gift will help them to feed, house and clothe their families for a month, while they work to better the lives of their community.
